“Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!”
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – J.K. Rowling
Who could resist Potter madness?
Brompton and Chelsea libraries certainly couldn’t and fully embraced the Harry Potter Book Night madness with magical craft sessions of their own.
We captured a few pictures from the events, take a look at the ‘mischief managed’!
Harry Potter Bookmarks at Chelsea Library
The Children’s Library was transformed into a Hogwarts classroom for Harry Potter Book Night.
As huge fans of the books, we made our very own Harry Potter bookmarks to help us keep track of our progress during our next re-read! And as Harry’s glasses are nearly as iconic as his lightning bolt scar, we made glasses of our own to wear. There were plenty of Harry Potter themed colouring sheets, word searches and other magical puzzles to enjoy throughout the session.
“The Potions Master” extract was great for setting the scene, Professor Snape definitely makes a lasting impression. We finished off with ‘Hagrid’s Care of Magical Creatures’ Quiz’, which everyone did really well on – maybe you’ll all be future professors at Hogwarts?
Harry Potter Craft at Brompton Library
Led by experienced Professors Elizabeth and Ashraf, young Hogwarts students were invited to make their own Witches or Wizards hat! Take a look at some of our creations.
